Travel Journal

When I'm going on holiday for 2 weeks....and especially when I'm visiting a variety of places.....I like to take a travel journal with me.....though I've left it very late to make it this year!
I started with a file folder bought at a boot sale
It's about 9 x 7 so a fairly compact size......I decided to use scraps and oddments to make the pages.......not bothering too much about the size......most base pieces are kraft.....but the ones to document the days we are at sea have a blue base.
I put our itinerary at the front
I used some of the lovely vintage papers that Barbara sent me
and some oddments of travel papers
I made some folders for each place we are visiting so that receipts, tickets and all manner of bits and pieces can be tucked in.......we have pre-booked the hop-on-hop-off  bus in some cities.....so I printed off a list of the stops so that we can plan where we want to go in a limited time scale
I'm pretty pleased with how it's turned out

but now I have the much less enjoyable task of trying to fit everything in the cases......thank goodness we leave from Southampton......so no weight restrictions!

lol! Yesterday TSO bought a set of travel scales for in the Pound Shop because she said she wanted to see how much all the stuff she usually takes on the boat weighs, just in case she goes on a plane instead next year.

It's a brilliant travel journey. I especially like the idea of the blue pages for "at sea"

It looks like the perfect travel journal. I've never had much luck with them while traveling until the latest trip when I just used a notebook and some Washi tape. It already had internal pockets so it worked well. I love the itinerary page, and I peeked to see where you were going. Can't wait to see the photos. I've seen very little of Spain, and it was a LONG time ago. Have a fabulous trip!

I love it. My travel journal is always my go-to to remember my journaling when I get around to scrapbooking.

It looks like a fun journal! I really enjoyed using the one I made on our road trip this summer - so nice to have a place to record things each day & slip in memorabilia along the way! Enjoy your trip!
