A day in Lewes

I had a couple of photos from a day G and I spent in Lewes last summer to scrap......and was inspired by the current challenge over at the CSI Challenge blog.
I kept fairly closely to the sketch.......all the colours are used......the patterned paper is a free download from the challenge site......my 'evidence' is stars, sun and fussy cutting......and my 'testimony' is the handwritten journaling.
We went for a day trip to Lewes on one of the few sunny days last summer......we wandered round like tourists......up and down extremely steep old streets.......admired ancient buildings......quirky little shops......found a craft shop AND a patchwork and quilting shop......and had a lovely lunch in a tiny Italian restaurant tucked away in a backstreet.
After lunch we had intended to visit Anne of Cleves house......we should have visited in the morning........because in the afternoon it was closed for a private function......a wedding......I'm not really superstitious......but I think personally I may have thought twice about getting married in the house of one of Henry VIII's wives!!!!!
On our way back into town we came across a beautiful little park......and took some time out to sit, chill and enjoy our surroundings.....before heading back to the train station.
A perfect day.

We're going to Lewes next Friday - it seems crazy that it's so close and yet I've never gone there before. We're going for breakfast with friends who go regularly and I'm looking forward to having a wander as I believe it's beautiful.

I like the layout a lot, and am intrigued by the challenge, which is more involved than most I see.

Yes, history doesn't evoke too much hope as far as marriage is concerned for one of Henry XIII's wives - I wouldn't have chosen that as a venue either!

Great layout Jacky!
